MandalaBooks

For over sixteen years, Mandala Books has been honing their inventory. With the help of consciously aware customers, we have weeded out an enormous amount of non-essential books and added many rare gems not usually found even in specialty shops.

MandalaGuest

We have had the honor of presenting the highest caliber of speaker/guests, including:

  • On March 26, 1995, The Vajrayana Foundation and Mandala Books presented An Afternoon of Dharma & Classical Indian Music. Lama Tharchin Rinpoche (above), a Dzogchen (Great Perfection) master of Vajrayana Buddhism. Classical Eastern Raga by Sitar Master Rahul Sariputra.

    Khandro

  • Hosted by the Palo Alto Dharmadatu and Mandala Books, the Venerable Khandro Rinpoche (above) spoke on the subject Meditation in the Modern World. At the age of two, Rinpoche was recognized by His Holiness the 16th Karmapa as the re-incarnation of the Great Dakini of Tsurphu, Khandro Ugyen Tsomo.

  • Mandala, and her customers, were blessed to have the in-house, weekly presence of Rabbi Steven Fisdel (The Practice of Kabbalah). Rabbi Fisdel taught workshops on the history, development and practice of Kabbalah. He also read Tarot cards for those seriously interested in a proper life path.

    Other distinguished speaker/guests included:

  • Castaneda cohort Taisha Abelar (The Sorcerers' Crossing) with surprise guest, the Nagual woman Carol Tiggs
  • Jungian analyst June Singer (Boundaries of the Soul)
  • Tarot teacher Pamela Eakins (Tarot of the Spirit)
  • Gurdjieffian teacher William Patterson (Eating the "I": An Account of The Fourth Way)

In the year 2000 AD, Mandala Books made her final metamorphosis into MandalaBooks.com. She fills a niche that should become more apparent as the Internet reaches critical mass. While it's true that on-line behemoths like Amazon.com boast a virtual Books-in-Print inventory, the onslaught of titles presents a jungle of confusing options.

One can't see the trees for the forest.

Our newly upgraded Website (2007) offers just the cream-of-the-crop from 33 main level categories, covering the entire spectrum of sacred texts and esoterica. Not only will you see the trees, each one is embellished!
