Publisher's Synopsis

It was forbidden in the "Third Reich", but was also on the list of banned literature in East Germany. These periods of prohibition (in East Germany more than fifty years) markedly curtailed the possibility of disseminating In the Light of Truth and making it known.

One wonders why a non-political book like In the Light of Truth was still regarded by political systems as a "source of danger." The reason, perhaps, is that it sets up personal awareness of responsibility and individual freedom of choice against all conformity. Furthermore, dogmatic limitations are alien to it, since it gives a comprehensive understanding, on the basis of the Laws of Creation, of the world and of life - beyond nationalities, races and creeds.

"Between 1923 and 1937, Abd-ru-shin wrote 168 essays, which he assembled to form the work In the Light of Truth: The Grail Message. Since then, the Grail Message has been translated into 15 languages and is available in over 80 countries. This book sheds new light upon all of life's fundamental questions and guides the earnest seeker to spiritual liberation."          ~Grail Foundation Press

"As the majority of all incarnated souls actually belong to regions that lie much deeper than the earth itself, it will therefore be but Divine justice if such souls are swept away and sink back to where they properly belong; to the region where, due to their absolute homogeneity, they have no further opportunity to burden themselves with new guilt; and where consequently they are better able to mature and begin to ascend through the suffering inflicted upon them in their own sphere!

It does not lie with mankind to elect the Son of Man sent by God. But the Power of God will uplift Him at the hour when mankind in their helplessness are whining for deliverance! Then they will cease to revile, because horror will silence them, and they will willingly accept all the gifts the Creator offers His creatures through His Envoy! But he who will not accept them from Him shall be cast forth for all eternity!"          ~Chapter 50, Vol. II: The Son of Man

Abd-ru-shin's civil names are Oskar Ernst Bernhardt. He was born on 18th April 1875 in Bischofswerda, Saxony. After a brief commercial training Abd-ru-shin began his literary activity while still a young man. This often led him to foreign countries.

In 1915 he was interned in England. Released in 1919, he first went to Dresden, later to Bavaria and in 1923 began to write the first lectures of the Grail Message. In 1928 he settled on Vomperberg in the Tyrol. There he wrote the Work "In the Light of Truth", the Grail Message.

Exiled from Austria in 1938 by the Nazis, he died on 6th December 1941 in Kipsdorf (Germany). His living knowledge is no earthly learnedness. He draws it from purest and highest Sources.
